Energy Renewables

Before considering installing Renewable Technologies to ensure you are getting the best pay back, it is wise to check that the building is as energy efficient as possible, by making sure there is adequate loft & cavilty wall insulation and draughtproofing - looking at heating controls, double glazing, low energy lighting etc.

  • Discover how much Energy is being used within the building by installing an Energy Monitor
  • Improve the amount of energy used by installing a Voltage Optimisation Unit which will also extend the life of electrical equipment
  • Save money on energy bills by installing LED lighting, PIRs, timers etc
  • By using Sunpipes/tubes, rooflights in rooms with out windows, corridors or darker corners you can eliminate or reduce the need to use electric lighs during the day
  • Solar PV allows you to generate and use your own electricity - you will recive a payment for additional energy not used and exported back to the grid as well as a "Feed in Tariff" payment for the generation of the electricity
  • Solar Thermal can be used to heat your hot water or run underfloor heating systems
  • Heat Pumps use refrigeration technology extracting heat from the ground and air

Within our Sustainable Centre we are able to show you how energy monitors can help, you can see the savings that can be achieved by simply upgrading lamps and or fitting. We have working displays and equipment to help with your choices.

Alternatively, you can contact Chris Sharman our Renewables Manager for more information. He works closely with our roofing company, Elliotts Premier Roofing, and would be more than happy to help you with any enquiries you may have.
