For those customers who regularly visit Romsey branch you may have noticed some work taking place and wondered what was happening - well in short we have purchased the printers next door and Elliotts Romsey is almost doubling in size.  Works are due for completion in the autumn and Kevin Dady, the branch manager, will keep you updated here via a regular blog.

  • The yard will more than double in size increasing by a massive 111%
  • Dry Store - Sheet Material / PAR and Door is over a third larger than existing
  • Self Selection will increase by 11%

Things have progressed very rapidly since my last blog update, the self selection area has been fully fitted with new display stands and is ready for stock, the office furniture is in place and ready to receive the data systems and equipment.  The big move is on for this weekend and we will be trading from the new building from Monday 7th September.  The showroom is in the final fitment stage and will be operational from Monday, final completion is within 2 weeks.  Outside works have progressed well and the new exit route is well underway, at present we are using the new inward route for customers and deliveries.

Upon the completion of  the move to the new premises work then commences on converting the old store to a large general warehouse, this will involve gutting the existing shop-showroom area and then installing new racking to accommodate new stock line, this work is scheduled to take approx 6-8 weeks and should coincide with the completion of all civil engineering works out side and the relocation of timber racks.  If all goes to plan all works should be completed by the end of October.

17th August 2009

Hi all, since my last blog a lot has moved on.  The self selection area has been shopfitted and the offices will be completed by Wednesday 26th.  The kitchen and bathroom studio is well underway and many of the display's are nearing completion.  The main yard has been re-racked and the new yard is now occupied with current stock line.  The new stores are 95% complete with the repositioned stock lines and the final phase of the groundwork's has started with the levelling and re-concreting of the old roadway.

As from Monday the 24th we will be using the new goods inwards entrance, to enable us to close and redevelop the existing roadway.   Our move date for the self selection and kitchen / bathroom studio is set for the weekend of 4th-6th September and we will start trading from the new site on Monday 7th September.  We will then be gutting our existing shop and showroom to transform it into a large general store during September.  Hopefully all works will be completed by October.

Since my last blog the old stores have been totally demolished and recycled.  Progression has been steady with the concrete bays being poured to form the new yard surface. The new "ELLIOTTS" cladding has been completed to the new shop with the windows and doors being installed this week.  The showroom fitment has commenced and should take about 8 weeks to complete.  All walls have been constructed and finished, carpet and flooring is being laid throughout to enable the placement of displays which will commence next week - 12 kitchens, 13 bathrooms and 8 showers in all.  We have full use of the new carpark and a new entrance to the rear yard via the side of the new building.
